ouch. i wasn't trying to be insensitive or untimely. :( but i'll take that as a "no" (and hopefully, the impression you give isn't indicative of the larger student body).
I didn't make that comment. But whoever did was correct.
And even if you aren't concerned about timing, you might have more luck next time if you ask nicely of whomever you solicit information from, rather than straight-up telling them to IM you.
